Frances Brooks Spence Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship fund was created to assist women of all ages who desire to return to secondary school, get a GED or embark on a new journey of continuing education.​
​
The late Mrs. Brooks Spence, mother of SOMS Tracy Spence, was an entrepreneurial pioneer in South Florida owning The Denim Shack and Continental Lady wig salon decades before the current fashion & beauty fads.​ She was the epitome of class and elegance.
​
Always known to carry her "purse in one hand, and a power tool in the other" as seen in this photo, the Frances Brooks Spence Memorial Scholarship was created for women who aren't afraid to be a lady, while "going to work".
