S.O.M.Sistahs stands for
Speaking Of My Sistahs, a movement dedicated to:
Educating Connecting Cultivating
A unique outreach organization founded in 2005 with a mission to establish, cultivate & nurture other women through the written & spoken word; relationship cultivation sessions; scholarship assistance and mentoring/leadership workshops. The SOMSistahs Movement grew to include additional outreach services addressing the critically food-insecure homeless community that are not emotionally, mentally, or physically able to secure the proper nutrition or basic hygiene items needed to sustain life. Our mission is:

"To meet the immediate need of critically food-insecure homeless individuals through collaborative and innovative community efforts and initiatives."

We are committed to serving our community right where they are, e.g., store-fronts, abandoned buildings, cars, etc., by delivering nutritious lunches through our Brown Bag Lunch Brigade initiative. We do this through collaborative efforts with other non-profits, churches, ministries, and businesses in order to reach a broader area with a variety of much-needed services and resources.
